Cafe Mary Grace

I was really craving for a breakfast meal that I had to drag my friend to one of the places I haven't visited for years, Cafe Mary Grace.

I received a cake from Mary Grace for my birthday last year, that I made a mental note to visit Cafe Mary Grace soon.

Cafe Mary Grace looks like a home library cum coffee shop. It was a bit full that we were seated at the alfresco area, which I didn't mind as I was really looking forward to having a breakfast meal, and cheesecake.

What do I love more than food? The quotable quotes!

I ordered one of their Filipino Breakfast items, Beef Tapa (Php 247).

Beef Tapa
Beef Tapa is served with garlic rosemary fried rice and scrambled eggs. You may have the eggs sunny side up or upgrade to ham/cheese omelet. I found the tapa serving quite small, and a little tough. However, the garlic rosemary rice is so delicious that though I don't usually order extra rice, I wish I got another serving.

Cheesecake

Hot Chocolate for takeaway
As I recently became a cheesecake addict, I got myself a slice of Mary Grace Cheesecake (Php 120) while my friend got Mary Grace Hot Chocolate (Php 110) for takeaway. The cheesecake wasn't that tarty but it was the right kind of plain cheesecake I was looking for. My friend loved the Mary Grace Hot Chocolate! She wished she got herself two cups (damn, I got envious).

I got a Mary Grace Chocolate Cake for my 23rd birthday, so I also got this for my brother's birthday. I got the whole square chocolate cake (Php 635), which is 8 x 8 x 2 inches of chocolatey goodness with creamy custard filling in the middle.

Mary Grace Chocolate Cake
I was kinda surprised that the cake was too heavy and mind you, it was still in its perfect shape after more than an hour of travel. If you prefer your chocolate cake not too sweet, then you must try this.

Cafe Mary Grace is a place for pastry lovers like me since the dishes were kinda average (and bit pricey). I should try the Hot Chocolate, the ensaymada, and cheese rolls soon.
